The Braunschweig Centre for Gender Studies (BZG) contributes to strengthening and making an interdisciplinary profiling the research and development focuses of the three universities and enriches the range of courses on offer. The variety of teaching content and research approaches promotes cross-university exchange.

The office of the Braunschweig Centre for Gender Studies (administrative office) has three main areas of focus:

- Bridging the gap between the humanities, engineering, arts, media, natural and social sciences.

Tasks and objectives of the administrative office
The office aims to
- increase the range of services and visibility of gender studies at the three universities in the Braunschweig region,
- promote cross-university networking and
- contribute to the institutionalisation of gender studies.
This translates into the following tasks:
- Support research in order to strengthen gender perspectives in academic research
- Supplement teaching in order to enrich the range of courses offered
- Transfer knowledge between universities, disciplines and into civil society
In this way, the office contributes to:
- Bundling resources
- Promote gender knowledge, -awareness and competence
- Increase the appeal of engineering, natural sciences and artistic subjects
