AK Queer der Gewerkschaft Erziehung und Wissenschaft (German Education Union)

The AK Queer is a working group within the Trade Union for Education & Science in Lower Saxony. The people involved come from different areas and have set themselves the goal of bringing queer topics into (higher) education and increasing the visibility of queer lifestyles.

Fachgesellschaft Geschlechter Studien (Gender Studies Association)

Since January 2010, the Fachgesellschaft Geschlechterstudien/Gender Studies Association (Gender e.V.) has been committed to the further development of gender studies in German-speaking countries. It therefore supports the interdisciplinary networking of researchers and teachers in academic gender studies in Germany and in international contexts.

Gender und Diversity in der Lehre (net-g+d-lehre)

Gender und Diversity in Teaching (net-g+d-lehre) is an informal association of academics who aim to bring the topic of gender into university teaching. 

Die LAGEN Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft der Einrichtungen für Frauen- und Geschlechterforschung in Niedersachsen

Since 2007, the Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft der Einrichtungen für Frauen- und Geschlechterforschung in Niedersachsen (LAGEN) has been the networking umbrella structure for various institutions and several associated members. The focus is therefore on networking researchers in the field of women's and gender studies in Lower Saxony and supporting academic careers in gender studies.

Konferenz der Einrichtungen für Frauen- und Geschlechterstudien im deutschsprachigen Raum (KEG)

The KEG organises regular, usually annual, working conferences. These provide a framework for institutions and individuals to discuss issues and problems in women's and gender studies and to act on this basis in terms of science and higher education policy, e.g. to pass resolutions and publish them. If necessary, meetings of individual working groups or scientific conferences are organised between the annual meetings.

The Section for Women's and Gender Studies in the German Sociological Association 

    • promotes women's and gender studies,
    • discusses sociological problems related to gender,
    • networks researchers in women's and gender studies,
    • contributes to the dissemination and deepening of feminist ways of thinking,
    • participates in the clarification of specialised and academic issues in women's and gender studies,
    • and fosters international relations in women's and gender studies.
